Perimeter of a rectangle can be calculated as

P=2(l+b)

P=2(6+8)

P=28

As per question square perimeter is also 28

So side of square is perimeter/4 which is 28/4

Thus side is 7

Area of square is side*side which is 7*7

Hence,answer is 49 cm :)

Answer:

perimeterof rectangle = perimeter of square

2× (8+6) = 4× side

2× 14 = 4× side

28 = 4× side

28/4 = side

7cm= side of square

Now, area of square= side × side

= 7× 7

= 49cm^2
