the perimeter of a rectangle and square are same . if length and breadth of the rectangle are 25 cm and 17 cm respectively, find which figure has greater area and how much

perimeter of rectangle = 2 (l +b)

= 2(25 + 17)

= 2 x 42

= 84

Area of rectangle = lb

= 25 x 17

= 425

perimeter of square = 4 x (side)

84 = 4 x (side)

84/4 = (side)

21 = (side)

Area of square = (side)²

= 21²

= 441

425 < 441

So area of the square has more area
