The perimeter of a rectangle field is 80 m.If the length of the field is decresed by 2m and its breadth is increased by 2m, the area is increased by 36 square m.Find the length and the breadth of the rectangle

Let the length and breadth be x and y.
As per the question,
(x-2)(y+2) = xy +36.
xy-2y+2x-4= xy +36
2(x-y) = 40
x-y = 20........i
Now, we know
2(x+y) = 80
x+y = 40........ii
By solving both the equations,
you will get
x= 30 and y = 10.
Thus, Length and breadth will be 30 and 10 m respectively.
