perimeter of rectangle = 2 × ( l + b)

116 = 2 × ( l + 25)

116 = 2 × 25L

Given,

perimeter of rectangle = 116cm

breadth = 25cm

length = ?

let us assume length to be x.

We know that,

perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l+b) where l is length and b is breadth.

substituting the values,

116 = 2(x+25)

 \frac{116}{2}  = x + 25

58 = x + 25

58 - 25 = x

33cm = x

VERIFICATION:

perimeter = 2(l+b)

116 = 2(33+25)

116 = 2(58)

LHS = RHS

hence verified

hope it helps
