The perimeter of a rectangle is 12 cm and its length is 2 cm more than the breadth.
What is the length of each side?

Take the breadth as x, so the length is x + 12

So x(x+12) = 448

x^2 + 12x = 448

So x^2 + 12x - 448 = 0

(x−16)(x+28)=0

So x = 16cm

The length is 16cm, breadth is 28cm

The perimeter is 2*16 + 2*28

= 32 + 56

= 88cm
