Answer:

Perimeter of rectangle =40 cm (given)

condition :- length = 2× breadth +2

⇒l=2b+2

perimeter p=2(l+b)=40

⇒2(2b+2+b)=40

⇒2(3b+2)=40

⇒6b=40−4=36

∴b=6cm

l=2×6+2=12+2=14cm

∴ length =14 cm, breadth =6 cm

Solution :

Given :

  • The perimeter of a rectangle is 20cm.

  • The length of the rectangle is 40cm.

To find :

  • The area of the rectangle.

We also need to find the width of the rectangle. So,

Perimeter = 2 ( l + w )

Where,

l = length

w = width

Perimeter = 2 ( 40 + w )

120 cm = 80 + w

120 cm - 80 cm = w

40 cm = w

Area = l × w

Where,

l = length

w = width

Area = 40 cm × 40 cm

Area = 1600 cm

Therefore, the area of the rectangle is 1600 cm.
