Answer:

Perimeter = 13 cm

Breadth(Width) = 2 3/5 = 13/5 cm

perimeter of rectangle = 2(L+B)

13 = 2( L + 13/5 )

13/2 = L+13/5

13/2 - 13/5 = L

13(5)/ 10 - 13(2)/10 = L

65/10 - 26/10 = L

39/10 cm = L

hope it helps..

Question:

The perimeter of a rectangle is 13 cm and it's width is \sf{2\large\frac{3}{5}cm} . Find the Length.

Given:

  • Perimeter of Rectangle=13 cm
  • Width of Rectangle=\sf{2\large\frac{3}{5}cm}

To Find:

  • The length of Rectangle.

Formula to be used:

\sf{Perimeter\: of\: Rectangle=2(l+b)}

Where,

  • l is length of the Rectangle.
  • b is Breadth/Width of Rectangle.

Solution:

Let the length of Rectangle be x cm. Then,

\rightarrow\mathsf{Perimeter\: of\: Rectangle=2(l+b)}

\rightarrow\mathsf{13=2(x+2\large\frac{3}{5})}

\rightarrow\mathsf{13=2(x+\large\frac{13}{5})}

\rightarrow\mathsf{\large\frac{13}{2}=x+\large\frac{13}{5}}

\rightarrow\mathsf{\large\frac{13}{2}-\large\frac{13}{5}=x}

\rightarrow\mathsf{\large\frac{65-26}{10}=x}

\rightarrow\mathsf{\large\frac{39}{10}=x}

\rightarrow\mathsf{3.9cm=x}

Hence, the length of rectangle is 3.9 cm.
