perimeter of rectangle=2(l+b)

13=2(l+2)

13=2l+4

134=2l

9/2=l

Given,

Perimeter, p = 13 cm

Width, w = 2 cm

We know that,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( length + width )

                                13  = 2 ( l + w )

                                13 = 2 ( l + 2)

                                13 = 2l + 4

                                13 -4 = 2l

                                2l = 9

                                l = 9/2

                                l = 4.5 cm

Area of rectangle = Length  ×  Breadth

                             =  l  ×  b

                             = 4.5  ×  2

                             = 9 cm²
