Answer:

Let the breadth be x.

length=x+3

perimeter=134

therefore,

2(x+x+3)=134

4x+6=134

4x=134-6

4x=128

x=128/4=32

breadth=32 cm

length=32+3=35 cm

Given :

  • Perimeter of a rectangle = 134 cm
  • Length of rectangle is 3 cm more than breadth.

To find :

  • Length and breadth of rectangle?

Solution :

☯ Let breadth of rectangle be x cm.

Then, Length of rectangle will be (x + 3) cm

Now,

According to the Question:

  • Perimeter of a rectangle = 134 cm

As we know that,

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

Therefore,

➻ 2((x + 3) + x) = 134

➻ (x + 3) + x = 134/2

➻ 2x + 3 = 67

➻ 2x = 67 - 3

➻ 2x = 64

➻ x = 64/2

➻ x = 32

Hence,

  • Breadth of rectangle, x = 32 cm
  • Length of rectangle, (x + 3) = 32 + 3 = 35 cm

More to know:

  • Area of rectangle = length × breadth
  • Diagonal of rectangle = √(length)² + (breadth)²
  • Area of square = side × side
  • Perimeter of square = 4 × side
  • Diagonal of rectangle = √2 × side
