Answer:

Perimeter of rectangle =140cm

Breadth=40cm

Length=2×(40+l)

140cm=80 +2l

140-80=2l

60=2l

60/2=l

length=30 cm

Area=l×b

40×30

Answer:

The length and the area of the rectangle will be 30 cm and 1200 cm² respectively

Step-by-step explanation:

Here the perimeter of the rectangle is given to be 140 cm

Also, the breadth of the rectangle is given to be 40 cm

We will first find the length of the rectangle

perimeter =  2 ( length + breadth )

           140 = 2 ( length + 40 )

            70 = length + 40

     length = 70 - 40

    length = 30 cm

Area of the rectangle = length × breadth

                                     = 30 × 40

                                    = 1200 cm²
