Given :-

  • The perimeter of a rectangle is 154 metres .Length is 2 m more than twice its breadth.

To find :-

  • Length and breadth of rectangle

Solution :-

As we know that

→ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

Where " l " is length and " b " is breadth.

Let the breadth be x then its length be x + 2

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 154 m

According to question

→ 2(x + 2 + x) = 154

→ 2(2x + 2) = 154

→ 2x + 2 = 154/2

→ 2x + 2 = 77

→ 2x = 77 - 2

→ 2x = 75

→ x = 75/2

→ x = 37.5

Therefore,

  • x = 37.5 m

Hence,

  • Length of rectangle = x + 5 = 42.5 m

  • Breadth of rectangle = x = 37.5 m

Answer:

Let the breadth be x m

then,

length = (x+2)m

Since the perimeter of rectangle is 2(l+b)

2{(2+x)+x}

= 2(2+2x)

=4+4x

now perimeteris 154 m

then,

4+4x=154

4x=154-4

4x=150

x=150/4

x= 35

therefore Length = 70m and Breadth = 35m
