The perimeter of a rectangle is 156 meter and the difference of two sides is 30 meter. Find the side of square whose area is equal to the area of this rectangle?

Let the length and breadth be = l, b

Perimeter = 156 = 2 ( l + b )

According to the question:

l = b + 30

=》 156 = 2 ( l + b )

=》 78 = b + 30 + b

=》 78 - 30 = 2b

=》 b = 24 m

=》 l = b + 30 = 24 + 30 = 54 m

Area of rectangle = l × b

Area = 24 × 54

Area of rectangle = 1296 m^2

Area of square = 1296 m^2

Side of square = \tt {\sqrt {Area}}

Side = 36 m
