Step-by-step explanation:

the perimeter P is equal to the sum of length of four sides. Now since opposite sides are equal then perimeter is equal to twice the sum of length of the L and the breadth B.

P = 2(L + B)

150 = 2( L + 25) = 2L + 50

2L = 150 - 50 = 100

L = 50

A( area ) = L × B = 50 × 25 = 1250 cm^2

Correct Question

The perimeter of a rectangle is 150 cm .

If the breadth of the rectangle is 25 cm , find its length . Also find the area of the rectangle .

Given

Perimeter → 150 cm

Breadth → 25 cm

To find

The length of rectangle

Area of rectangle

Solution

Let the length be ' x '

Perimeter = 2 ( l + b )

Here , perimeter = 150 cm

⇒ 2 × ( x + 25 ) = 150 cm

⇒ x + 25 = 150 / 2 cm

⇒ x + 25 = 75 cm

⇒ x = 75 - 25 = 50 cm

Now , length is 50 cm

Area = 50 cm × 25 cm = 1250 cm²

Answer :

  • Length → 50 cm
  • Area → 1250 cm²
