Answer:

the perimeter of the rectangular field is = 200m

length be x

breadth = 40m

the perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

so, 2(x+40) =200

2x+ 80 = 200

2x = 200 -80

2x = 120

x = 120/2

x = 60

length is 60

Given

Perimeter of Rectangle is 200cm

Length is three times it's breadth

To Find

Length and breadth

\sf\huge\bold{\underline{\underline{{Solution}}}}

Perimeter of Rectangle is 2(length+breadth)

Let us assume that breadth of Rectangle be 'x'

Three times of Breadth be 3x

According to the question

Length is three times it's breadth

Then, length = 3x

Perimeter of Rectangle=2(3x+x)

Perimeter of Rectangle=2(4x)

200=8x

=>x=200/8=25

x=25cm

breadth of Rectangle=25cm

length of Rectangle=3×25=75cm

Check

Perimeter of Rectangle=2(75+25)

Perimeter of Rectangle=2(100)=200cm

Extra information=>

Perimeter is the total distance occupy by a solid 2D figure around its edge.

Example in Real life : To fence a field with wire we need to find the cost of fencing in such case perimeter will used because we have to only fence border of the field.
