The perimeter of a rectangle is 240cm. What would be its length, if it is 10 cm more than its width?

Given :

Perimeter of rectangle = 240 cm

Assume length as = x + 10

Breadth as =x

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

240 = 2( x +10 + x)

240/2 = (2x + 10)

120 = 2x + 10

120-10 = 2x

110 = 2x

110/2 = x

55 = x

Therefore: length = x +10

55 + 10 = 65 cm

Breadth = x

= 55 cm
