{\underline{\underline{\large{\mathtt{ANSWER:-}}}}}

Dimensions are 7 cm and 5 cm.

{\underline{\underline{\large{\mathtt{EXPLANATION:-}}}}}

GIVEN :-

  • Perimeter of the rectangle=26 cm.
  • Length is 3 cm more than its breadth.

TO FIND :-

  • Dimensions of the rectangle.

SOLUTION :-

Let the breadth of the rectangle be x cm .

Length is 3 cm more than its breadth.

Length = (x+3) cm.

We know,

{\boxed{\sf{\green{Perimeter\: of\: rectangle=2(length+breadth)}}}}

So, Perimeter = 2(x+3+x) cm

→Perimeter = 2(2x+3) cm

According to the question,

\sf{2(2x+3)=26}

\implies\sf{2x+3=13}

\implies\sf{2x=13-3}

\implies\sf{2x=10}

\implies\sf{x=5}

Breadth = 5 cm.

Length = (5+3) = 7 cm.

VERIFICATION :

Breadth = 5 cm

Length = 7 cm

Perimeter = 2(7+5) cm

→ Perimeter= 26 cm.

Question :

The perimeter of a rectangle is 26 CM if its length is 3 cm more than its breadth find the dimension of the rectangle.

Formulas Used:

{\boxed{\sf{\green{Perimeter\: of\: rectangle=2(length+breadth)}}}}

Solution ;

Given : Perimeter of reactangle =26cm

Let the breadth of reactangle be x cm .

⇒Legth of reactangle =x+3 cm

Perimeter of rectangle=2(l+b)

⇒26 = 2(x+3+x)

⇒26=2(2x+3)

⇒13 = 2x+3

⇒10=2x

⇒ x=5

Therefore Dimensions of reactangle

length ,x+3 =5+3=8 cm

Breadth ,x=5cm

__________________________

Verification:

Length =8cm

breadth=5cm

perimeter

= 2(l+b)

=2(5+8)

=26 cm
