2(4x+3x)=280m

2*7x=280

x=20 m

l=4x=4*20

=80m

b =3x=3*20=60m

area of rectangle =lb=80*60=4800m^2

Given: The perimeter of the rectangle is 280 m and that the ratio of its length and breadth is 4:3.

To find: The area.

Answer:

Let the length be 4x and the breadth be 3x.

Perimeter = 2(length+ breadth)

280 = 2(4x + 3x)

280/2 = 7x

140 = 7x

x = 140/7

x = 20

Therefore, the length is 4*20 = 80 m and the breadth is 3*20 = 60 m.

Now, to find the area.

Area = Length*Breadth

Area = 80*60

Area = 4800 m^2
