the perimeter of a rectangle is 30 cm long if its length exceed its breadth by 3 cm find its deminsions

let the breadth of the rectangle = b cm
length = l =(b+3) cm
perimeter =30 cm
2(length+breadth) =30(formula for perimeter)
2(b+3+b)=30
2(2b+3)=30
2b+3=30/2
2b+3 =15
2b=15-3
2b=12
b=12/2
b=6cm
Therefore
breadth = b =6cm
length =l=b+3=6+3=9cm
