Step-by-step explanation:

Let the length be x cm and the breadth be y cm According to 1st condition

the perimeter is 30 cm

2x+2y= 30

Dividing throughout by 2

x+y = 15 ---(1)

Now ;

Area = l * b

Area = xy

According to 2 nd condition

xy-2= (x-2)(y+1)

xy-2=xy+x-2y-2

0= x-2y

x=2y - - - - (2)

Substitute (2) in (1)

2y + y = 15

3y=15.

y=5 - - (3)

Substitute (3) in (1)

x+5=15

x=15-5

x=10
