Sol: Given that Perimeter of the rectangle = 320 cm

Ratio of length of its Sides = 3:5

Let the ratio be in x , i.e. sides are 3x and 5x .

The perimeter of the rectangle = 2x(sum of length and breadth)

⇒ 2×(3x+5x) = 320 cm

⇒ 2×(8x) = 320 cm

⇒ 16x = 320 cm

⇒ x = 320÷16 cm

⇒ x = 20 cm

Hence the sides are 3x = 20×3 = 60

and 5x = 20×5 = 100

i.e. Sides are 60 and 100 .
