ɢɪᴠᴇɴ :-

The perimeter of a rectangle is 348 cm . Find the length of the rectangle if it is two more than three times it's breadth .

ᴛᴏ ғɪɴᴅ :-

  • Length (l)
  • Breadth (b)

sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :-

Let length of rectangle be x cm and breadth be y cm

then,

According to Question :-

  • Length = 3×Breadth + 2

  • x = 3y + 2. ---(1)

Now,

Perimeter of Rectangle = 348 cm --(given)

We know that,

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2(l + b)

2(l + b) = 348

(l + b) = 348/2

l + b = 174

x + y = 174

(3y + 2) + y = 174. --(from-1)

4y = 174 - 2

4y = 172

y = 172/4

y = 43

Put y = 43 in (1) , we get,

x = 3y + 2

x = 3×43 + 2

x = 129 + 2

x = 131

Hence,

  • Length(l) = x = 131 cm
  • Breadth(b) = y = 43 cm

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

348=perimeter

Perimeter =2(L+B)

Length is said to be 2 more than 3 times breadth..

so L=2+3B

Put this value in this equation

348=2(L+B)

348=2{(2+3B)+B}

348={4+8B}

348=4+8B

Now transfer 4 to left hand side

348-4=8B

344=8B

344/8=B

Breadth=43 cm

Length was 2 more than 3times breadth

Length=2+3(43)

Length=131 cm
