The perimeter of a rectangle is 36 cm and the length is twice the width. What are the

dimensions of this rectangle ?

Perimeter = 2(l+b)

where perimeter =36cm and l= 2b ,so

36 = 2(2b+b)

3b= 18cm

so

b =18/3=6 cm

and

l = 6×2 =12
