Answer:

Perimeter = 2(l+b) = 36

l+b = 36/2 =18

the possible values for l and b are (by trial and error)

1+17=18        here area of the rectangle = 1×17=17

2+16=18

3+15=18

9+9=18       here area of the rectangle = 9×9=81

hence maximum area is 81 and minimum area is 17
