Perimeter of rectangle= 2(l+b)

36= 2(l+b)

18= l+b

l= 10cm and b=8cm

(i) maximum area

length×breadth

10×8=80cmsq.

(ii) minimum area

l=16cm b=2cm

length×breadth

16×2=32cmsq.
