perimeter = 40 cm

l = 2x + 2

perimeter = 2 ( l + b )

40 = 2 ( x + 2x + 2)

20 = 3x + 2

20 - 2 = 3x

18 = 3x

x = 6

b = 6 cm

l = 2 × 6 + 2 = 12 + 2 = 14cm
