length = 14 cm , breadth = 6cm

Step-by-step explanation:

perimeter of rectangle =40 cm given

L =2×B+2 =2b +2

p= 2(l+b) = 40

2(2b +2+b) =40

2(3b +2 ) =40

6b =40 - 4 = 36

so, b= 6cm

1=2×6+2=12 +2=14 cm

AnswEr :-

  • Length of the rectangle = 14cm
  • Breadth of the rectangle = 6cm

Given :-

  • The perimeter of a rectangle is 40 cm. The length of the rectangle is more than double it's breadth by 2.

To Find :-

  • Length and breadth of the rectangle.

SoluTion :-

Let,

  • Breadth of the rectangle be x
  • Length of the rectangle will be 2x + 2

Given that,

  • Perimeter of the rectangle is 40cm.

We know that the formula for finding the perimeter of the rectangle is :-

2 (l + b)

Where,

  • l = length
  • b = breadth

According to question :-

2 (2x + 2 + x) = 40

→ 2 (3x + 2) = 40

→ 3x + 2 = 40/2

→ 3x + 2 = 20

→ 3x = 20 - 2

→ 3x = 18

→ x = 18/3

→ x = 6

Hence,

  • Breadth of the rectangle, x = 6cm
  • Length of the rectangle, 2x + 2 = 14cm
