Answer:

The dimensions of the rectangle are 14 cm and 6 cm.

Step-by-step-explanation:

Let the length of the rectangle be l cm.

And the breadth of the rectangle be b cm.

From the given condition,

Length = 2 * Breadth + 2

l = 2b + 2 - - - ( 1 )

Now,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( Length + Breadth )

⇒ 40 = 2 ( l + b )

⇒ 40 ÷ 2 = l + b

⇒ l + b = 20

⇒ 2b + 2 + b = 20 - - - [ From ( 1 ) ]

⇒ 3b = 20 - 2

⇒ 3b = 18

⇒ b = 18 ÷ 3

b = 6

∴ Breadth = 6 cm

Now,

l = 2b + 2

⇒ l = 2 * 6 + 2

⇒ l = 12 + 2

l = 14

∴ Length = 14 cm

∴ The dimensions of the rectangle are 14 cm and 6 cm.

Let consider breadth of Rectangle be x cm and length will be ( 2x + 2 ) cm

Perimeter Of Rectangle = 2 ( Length + Breadth )

Given that Perimeter of Rectangle is 40 cm

2[ x + ( 2x + 2 ) ] = 40

X + 2x + 2 = 40/2

X + 2x + 2 = 20

3x + 2 = 20

3x = 20 - 2

X = 18/3

X = 6 cm

Therefore ,

Breadth of Rectangle is 6 cm

Length of Rectangle is [ 2(6)+2] = 14 cm
