addition of length and breadth = perimetre / 2

x + 6 = 20

x = 20 - 6

= 14

so the length is 14m

Answer:

Given:-

The perimeter of a rectangle is 40m and breadth is 6m then what is the length of the rectangle?

To Find:-

The length of the rectangle.

Note:-

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2 × ( Length + Breadth ), when it is transposed; Length =  \frac{Perimeter}{2} - Breadth

Solution:-

 \huge\red{Perimeter \ \ of \ \ the \ \ rectangle = 40m, Breadth = 6m, Length = ?}

According to note first point~

▪︎ Length = \frac{Perimeter}{2} - Breadth

▪︎ Length = \frac{40m}{2} - 6m

▪︎ Length = 20m - 6m

After doing calculations~

▪︎ Length = 14m

 \huge\pink{Length = 14m}

Checking:-

Let's check that perimeter of rectangle = 2 × ( Length + Breadth ) or not.

 Perimeter \ \ of \ \ the \ \ rectangle = 2 × ( Length + Breadth ) \ \ ?

 40m = 2 × ( 14m + 6m ) \ \ ?

 40m = 2 × 20m \ \ ?

 40m = 40m \ \ ?

Yes!

 \huge\pink{Hence, Proved \ \ that \ \ Length = 14m}

Answer:-

Hence, the value of Length = 14m.
