Given :-

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 42 cm
  • Length of rectangle is double of it's breadth

------------------------------------------------------

To Find :-

  • Length and breadth of the rectangle

------------------------------------------------------

Solution :-

Let :

  • Breadth of rectangle = x
  • Length of rectangle = 2x

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

→ 42 = 2 ( 2x + x )

→ 42/2 = 3x

→ 21 = 3x

→ x = 21/3

→ x = 7

Therefore :

  • Breadth of rectangle = 7 cm
  • Length of rectangle = 14 cm

\large\sf\green{Required Answer}

Given:

Perimeter: 42 cm

Let Breadth be = x

Length = 2x (as it's double the breadth)

Sol:

Formula : peri. = 2(l+b)

42 = 2(2x + x) \\  \\ 42 = 4x + 2x \\  \\ 42 = 6x \\  \\   \frac{\cancel{42}}{\cancel{6}}  = x \\  \\  { \boxed{\purple{7 = x}}}

So,

Breadth = 7 cm

Length = 2x => 2×7 = 14 cm

Hope it helps
