Answer:

given,

Perimeter= 42cm

length is double its breadth

breadth=x , length= 2x

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l+b)

2 (l+b) =42

2 ( 2x + x)=42

4x+2x = 42

6x=42

x=4

42/6

x= 7cm

∴, breadth(x) = 7cm

length (2x)= 2*7=14 cm

Given :-

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 42 cm
  • Length of rectangle is double of it's breadth

------------------------------------------------------

To Find :-

  • Length and breadth of the rectangle

------------------------------------------------------

Solution :-

Let :

  • Breadth of rectangle = x
  • Length of rectangle = 2x

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

→ 42 = 2 ( x + 2x )

→ 42/2 = 3x

→ 21 = 3x

→ x = 21/3

→ x = 7

Therefore :

  • Breadth of rectangle = 7 cm
  1. Length of rectangle = 14 cm
