Let the length of a rectangle be 140 cm = 140 / 100 cm = 1.4 m

and the breadth of a rectangle be x m

Given perimeter of a rectangle is 480 cm = 4.8 m

A / q

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( l + b )

=> 4.8 m = 2 ( 1.4 + x ) m

=> 4.8 m = 2.8 + 2x m

=> 4.8 - 2.8 m = 2x

=> 2 m = 2x

=> x = 2 / 2 m

=> x = 1 m

Therefore the breadth of a rectangle is 1 m

Area of rectangle = l × b

=> 1.4 × 1 m^2

=> 1.4 m^2

Therefore the area of rectangle is 1.4 m^2

\textbf{Hope it helps!}
