Given :-

  • The perimeter of a rectangle is 60 cm , if the length of the rectangle is 1.5 times its breadth.

To find :-

  • Dimensions of rectangle

Solution :-

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 60cm

Let the breadth of rectangle be x

  • If the length of the rectangle is 1.5 times its breadth.

  • Length = 1.5x

According to question

→ Perimeter of rectangle = 60cm

→ 2(l + b) = 60

→ 2(1.5x + x) = 60

→ 1.5x + x = 60/2

→ 2.5x = 30

→ x = 30/2.5

→ x = 12 cm

Hence,

  • The value of x is 12 cm

Therefore,

  • Length of rectangle = 1.5x = 18cm

  • Breadth of rectangle = x = 12 cm

Given:

  • Length of the rectangle is 1.5 times its breadth.
  • Perimeter of rectangle = 60 cm

To find:

  • Dimensions of Rectangle?

Solution:

⠀⠀⠀⌬ Let breadth of rectangle be x cm.

⠀⠀⠀⌬ Then, Length of rectangle is 1.5x cm.

According to the given Question:

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

⇏ 2(1.5x + x) = 60

⇏ 2(2.5x) = 60

⇏ 2.5x = 60/2

⇏ 2.5x = 30

⇏ x = 30/2.5

⇏ x = 12

Therefore,

  • Breadth of rectangle, x = 12 cm
  • Length of rectangle, 1.5x = 12 × 1.5 = 18 cm

∴ Hence, Dimensions of rectangle (length and breadth) are 18 cm and 12 cm respectively.
