Given :-

  • The Perimeter of a Rectangle is 60cm.
  • The length of the rectangle is 4 times the breadth of the rectangle.

 \\  \\

To Find :-

  • Area of the Rectangle

 \\  \\

Solution :-

Let the Breadth be x cm

Then, the length will be 4x cm

 \\

According to the Question :-

➞ Perimeter of the Rectangle = 2( l + b )

➞ 60 = 2( 4x + x )

➞ 60 = 8x + 2x

➞ 60 = 10x

➞ 60 ÷ 10 = x

6 = x

________________

Therefore :-

  • Length = 4x = 4 × 6 = 24cm
  • Breadth = x = 6cm

________________

➞ Area of the Rectangle = Length × Breadth

➞ Area of the Rectangle = 24 × 6

➞ Area of the Rectangle = 144cm²

So, Area of Rectangle is 144cm²

Additional Info :

Formulas Related to Rectangle :

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 2( l + b)
  • Area = Length × Breadth
  • Length = Area / Breadth
  • Breadth = Area / Length
  • Diagonal = √(l)² + (b)²

Question ::-

The perimeter of a rectangle is 60 cm. If the length of the rectangle is 4 times the breadth of the rectangle, find the area of the rectangle.

Given ::-

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 60 cm

  • Length = 4 times of its breadth.

To find ::-

  • Find the area of rectangle ?

Solution ::-

• Perimeter of rectangle = 60 cm

• Length of rectangle = 4 times of its breadth

= 4 × B

= 4B

• Breadth of rectangle = B

_________

➠ Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (length + breadth)

➠ 60 = 2 ( 4b + b )

➠ 60 = 2 ( 5b )

➠ 60/2 = 5b

➠ 30 = 5b

➠ 30/5 = b

  • 6cm = breadth

  • 4b = 4 × 6 = 24 cm

__________

➠ Area of rectangle = length × breadth

➠ Area = 24 × 6

➠ Area = 144 {cm}^{2}

Thus , area of rectangle is 144 {cm}^{2}
