Given : The perimeter of a rectangle is 60 cm.

The length of a rectangle is more than double its breadth by 6.

To Find:  length and breadth of  the rectangle.

Solution:

perimeter of a rectangle = 2( length + Breadth)

Breadth = x  cm

Length = 2x + 6  cm

Perimeter = 2(2x + 6 + x)

=> Perimeter = 6x + 12  cm

Perimeter = 60 cm

Equate perimeter

6x + 12 = 60

=> 6x = 48

=> x = 8

Breadth = x  = 8   cm

Length = 2x + 6  = 2(8) + 6  = 22 cm

length and breadth  of rectangles are 22 and 8 cm respectively
