Answer:

Perimeter = 60cm

Let length be L

Breadth be B

L=2B

B.T.P ,

2(L+B) = 60

or, 2(2B+B)=60

6B = 60

B = 10cm

L = 20cm

Area = L × B

= 20×10

= 200cm²

Solution

Given :-

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 60 cm
  • length of Rectangle twice of it's breadth.

Find :-

  • Area of Rectangle

Explanation

Let,

  • Length of Rectangle x cm,
  • Breadth of Rectangle y cm.

Using Formula

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 ( length + Breadth)

Area of Rectangle = ( Length × Breadth)

According to question

Case 1.

==> perimeter of Rectangle = 2 ( Length + Breadth)

==> 60 = 2 (x + y)

==> x + y = 60/2

==> x + y = 30______________(1)

Case 2.

==> x = 2y

==> x - 2y = 0_____________(2)

Sub. equ(1) & equ(2)

==> y + 2y = 30

==> 3y = 30

==> y = 30/3

==> y = 10 cm.

keep value of y in equ(2)

==> x - 2×10 = 0

==> x = 20 cm

Hence

  • Length of Rectangle be (x) = 20 cm
  • Breadth of Rectangle be (y) = 10 cm.
