The perimeter of a rectangle is 68 cm. Its diagonal is 26 cm. What is its area?

The sum of L and B = 34 and Hypotenuse is 26, we need to find L and B

L+B = 34 …(1)

L^2 + B^2 = 26^2 = 676 …(2)

Square (1), L^2 + B^2 + 2LB = 1156 …(3)

Subtract (2) from (3), 2LB = 1156 - 676 = 480, or

LB = 240 sq cm

Area = 240 sq cm
