Hey there!!

The formula for the perimter of rectangle

= 2 ( length + breadth )

Now,

Let us take breadth as ' x '

Then, the length would be ' 2x '

Substitute this in the formula

Perimeter = 72

2 ( 2x + x ) = 72

2 ( 3x ) = 72

6x = 72

x = 12

Breadth = 12 cm

Length = ( 2 ) ( 12 ) = 24 cm

Area = Length ( breadth )

Area = ( 12 ) ( 24 )

Area = 288cm^2
