Given,

  • The perimeter of the rectangle = 80 m
  • Its length is one meter more than twice the breadth.

To find,

  • We have to find the length and breadth of the rectangle.

Solution,

We can simply find the length and breadth of the rectangle by using the following formula:

             Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(l+b)     (*)

Let the breadth of the rectangle be 'x'

    The length of the rectangle = 2x+1

The perimeter of the rectangle = 80 m

Now, using (*), we get

                            80 = 2(2x+1+x)

                         80/2 = 3x+1

                            40 = 3x +1

                           40-1 = 3x

                              39 = 3x

                             39/3 =x

                               13  = x

Breadth of the rectangle = 13 m

length of the rectangle = 2(13) +1

                                        = 27 m

Hence, the perimeter of a rectangle is 80 meters and its length is one meter more than twice the breadth, then the length is 27 m and the breadth is 13m.
