The area of the rectangle is 4000 meter square.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The perimeter of a rectangle is equal to 280 meters. The ratio of its length to its width is 5:2.

To Find : The area of the rectangle ?

Solution :

Let the ratio be 'x'.

So, the length became l=5x

The breadth became b=2x

The perimeter is given by, P=2(l+b)

280=2(5x+2x)

280=2(7x)

280=14x

x=\frac{280}{14}

x=20

The length is l=5(20)=100

The breadth is b=2(20)=40

The area of the rectangle is A=l\times b

A=100\times 40

A=4000\ m^2

Therefore, the area of the rectangle is 4000 meter square.
