Step-by-step explanation:

let the dimensions of rectangle be 3x and 2x

the perimeter of rectangle and square is same=40m

so,perimeter of rectangle =2(l+b)

2(3x+2x)=10x

but,10x=40

x=40÷10

x=4

then,3x=3×4=12m

2x=2×4=8m
