Answer:

Perimeter of the square =4×(length of the side)

=(4×15)cm

=60cm

Step 2 : Find perimeter of the rectangle

Let the breadth of the rectangle be x cm.

Perimeter of the rectangle=2(18+x)cm

As, Perimeters of a square and a rectangular are the same.

⟹2(18+x)=60

⟹18+x=30

x=12 cm

Thus, breadth of the rectangle is 12 cm

Step 3: Find the area of rectangle

Area of rectangle = length×breadth

=(18×12)cm

2

=216 cm

2

∴area of rectangle is 216 cm

Answer:

Given,

Perimeter of rectangle = perimeter of square

so,

perimeter of square = 4 × side

= 4 x 15

= 60cm

Now,

60 = perimeter of rectangle

60 = 2(l + b)

60 = 2(17 + b)

60/2 = (17 + b)

30 - 17 = b

b = 13 cm

breadth = 13cm answer
