GIVEN:

Perimeter of rectangle = Perimeter of square

Length = 35 cm, Breadth = 24 cm

ANSWER:

Side = 29.5 cm, Area = 870.25 cm²

SOLUTION:

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)

= 2(35 + 24)

= 2 × 59

= 118

Perimeter of rectangle is 118 cm

∴ Perimeter of square is also 118 cm [Given]

Let the length of one side of the square be "x"

We know that, perimeter of a square = 4 × Side

==> 4x = 118

==> x = 29.5

∴ One side of square is 29.5 cm

Now, area of a square = Side x Side

==> Required area of square = 29.5 × 29.5

= 870.25

∴ Area of the square is 870.25 cm²
