Given -

  • Perimeter of sheet = 100cm

  • Length of sheet = 35cm

To find -

  • Breadth and Area of sheet.

Solution -

In this question, we are provided with the perimeter and length of a rectangle sheet, and we need to find the Breadth and area of sheet, for finding the area, we need breadth, so first by using the formula of perimeter, we will find breadth and then area.

So -

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

Where -

l = Length = 35 cm

b = Breadth = x cm

On substituting the values -

Perimeter = 2(l + b)

\longrightarrow 2(35 + x) = 100

\longrightarrow 70 + 2x = 100

\longrightarrow 2x = 100 - 70

\longrightarrow 2x = 30

\longrightarrow x = \sf\cancel\dfrac{30}{2}

\longrightarrow x = 15 cm

\therefore Breadth of sheet is 15cm

Similarly -

Now, we have got the breadth too, so we will find the area of the sheet, by using the formula of area of rectangle.

So -

Area of rectangle = L × B

on substituting the values -

Area = L × B

\longrightarrow Area = 35cm × 15cm

\longrightarrow Area = 525cm

Verification (for perimeter)

Perimeter = 2(l + b)

100cm = 2(35cm + 15cm)

100cm = 70cm + 30cm

100cm = 100cm

Answer:

★ǫᴜᴇsᴛɪᴏɴ★

  • The perimeter of a rectangle sheet is 100 cm. if the length is 35 cm find its breadth. Also find the area .

★ANSWER★

\small \bf \underline{Given:}

  • Perimeter of sheet = 100cm
  • Length of sheet = 35cm

To find -

  • Breadth and Area of sheet.

Formula's Used :-

★ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(L + B)

where -

  • L = Length
  • B = Breadth

★ Area of rectangle = L × B

where -

  • L = Length
  • B = Breadth

Solution -

Part - 1

Perimeter = 100 cm

Length (L) = 35 cm

Let Breadth (B) = x cm

On making use of  the values in formula

Perimeter = 2(L + B)

 \small \bf 2(35 + x) = 100

 \small \bf 70 + 2x = 100

 \small \bf 2x = 100 - 70

 \small \bf 2x = 30

 \small \bf  x = \sf\cancel\dfrac{30}{2} = 15 \: cm

\bf \implies \:Breadth  \: of \: sheet \: is \: 15 \: cm

Part - 2

★ Length of sheet (L) = 35 cm

★ Breadth of sheet (B) = 15 cm

on making use of the values in formula

Area = L × B

 \small \bf Area = 35cm × 15cm

 \small \bf Area = 525 \:  {cm}^{2}

\bf \implies \:Area  \: of \: sheet \:  = 525 \:  {cm}^{2}
