The area of rectangle is 432 square meter when length is 6 m more than its breadth

Solution:

Given, the perimeter of a rectangle whose length is 6 m more than its breadth is 84 m.

Let the breadth of rectangle be b. Then length of the rectangle becomes b + 6.

We have to find what will be the area of the rectangle?

Now, perimeter = 84

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

2( b + (b + 6)) = 84

b + b + 6 = 42

2b + 6 = 42

b + 3 = 21

b = 21 – 3 = 18

So, the length of rectangle is b + 6 = 18 + 6 = 24.

Now area of rectangle = length x breadth

Area = 24 x 18 = 432 square meters

Hence, the area of the rectangle is 432 square meters . Hence option D is correct
