Answer:

Length of rectangular farmland = 6m

Breadth of rectangular farmland = 2m

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter of square farmland = 40m

Perimeter of Rectangular farmland = ⅖ of the perimeter of square farmland

                                                          = ⅖ * 40 = 16m

Now, Let length of the rectangular farmland be = l =  x

breadth of the rectangular farmland = b = ⅓ of length = ⅓ * x = x/3

Perimeter of rectangular farmland =

2 * (l + b) = 16

2 * (x + x/3) = 16

(3x + x)/3 = 16/2

4x/3 = 8

4x = 24

x = 6

.'. Length of rectangular farmland = x = 6m

Breadth of rectangular farmland = x/3 = 6/3 = 2m
