Solution:

Let breadth be x

So, length = 2x

Given:

⇒ Perimeter = 0.6 km = 600 m

To find:

⇒ Area of rectangular field in hectares.

Formula used:

⇒ Perimeter = 2(length + Breadth)

⇒ Area =  Length × Breadth.

So, first we calculated length & breadth of rectangular field.

⇒ Perimeter = 2(length + Breadth)

⇒ 600 = 2(2x + x)

⇒ 600 = 4x + 2x

⇒ 600 = 6x

⇒ x = 100

So, length = 2 × 100 = 200 m = 0.2 km

Breadth = 100 m = 0.1 km

Now, Area of rectangular field = Length × Breadth

⇒ Area = 0.2 × 0.1

⇒ Area = 0.02 km²

As we know 1 km² = 100 hectares

So, 0.02 km² = 2 hectare.

Hence, the area of square field = 2 hectares.
