The perimeter of a rectangular field is 240m. If its length is 90m, then find its breadth

Solution -

• Breadth of a rectangular field = 30 m

Using concept -

• Formula to find perimeter of rectangle.

Using formula -

• Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length+breadth)

Full Solution -

★ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

★ 240 = 2(90+b)

★ 240 = 180+2b

★ 240 - 180 = 2b

★ 60 = 2b

★ 60/2 = b

★ 30 = b

★ b = 30 m

• Henceforth, the breadth of the rectangular field is 30 metres.

Verification -

★ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

★ 240 = 2(90+30)

★ 240 = 2(120)

★ 240 = 240

• Henceforth, the answer is proved too.

• Let breath of the rectangle be x

Perimeter of rectangle = 2( length + breadth)

240m= 2( 90 + x)

240 m = 90 + x

240/2 = 90 + x

• Here by dividing 240/2 we get

120 = 90 + x

120 - 90 = x

30 = x

• Now here the value of x is 30.
• As we known that we had taken the breadth of the rectangle be x so now by putting the value of x in the place of breadth we get the answer  .

Breadth = x = 30m

• So the breadth of the rectangular field is 30meters .
