Let length of the rectangle be x and the breadth of the rectangle be y

perimeter of rectangle=2(l+b)

                              82  = 2(l+b)

                              41   = x+y

area of rectangle =l*b

                        400=xy

                        400/y=x

Using value of x in equation 1

           41= 400/y +y

            41y=400+ y²

y²-41y +400=0

By middle term splitting

y²-25y-16y+400=0

y(y-25)+16(y-25)=0

y =25 cm

x+y=41

x+25=41

     x= 16cm
