Let the length of rectangular garden be 2x+2

and breadth of rectangular garden be 2x

perimeter of rectangular garden is 172 m

perimeter of rectangular garden 2(l+b)

= 172m = 2(2x+2+2x)

= 172m = 2(4x+2)

= 172m = 8x+4

= 172-4 = 8x

= 168 = 8x

= 168/8 = 21

Length of rectangular garden = 2x+2

= 2*21+2 = 42+2 = 44m

Breadth of rectangular garden = 2x = 2*21 = 42 m
