Let breadth of garden is L m
then, Length of garden is 3L m

now, Perimeter of rectangular garden = 2(Length + Breadth )
640 m = 2( 3L + L) m = 2 × 4L m = 8L m
L = 640/8 = 80 m

hence, breadth of garden = 80 m
and Length of garden = 3L = 3 × 80 m = 240m

Heya !!!

This is your answer.

It is given that perimeter of the garden is 640 m.
and length is thrice the breadth.
Let the length be l and breadth be b.
As the length is thrice the breadth....so
Breadth = 3 × length

l = 3b.

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (l +b)
640 = 2 (3b + b)
320 = 4b
b = 80 m.

Hence the breadth is 80 metre and the length is 3b = 240 m.

Hope it helps
